The Basics

What Is PROFHILO®?

PROFHILO is a bio-remodeling injectable developed by IBSA Derma, a division of the Swiss pharmaceutical company IBSA Institut Biochimique SA. Unlike traditional dermal fillers that restore lost volume, or skin boosters that mainly hydrate, PROFHILO sits in its own category, designed to improve skin laxity, hydration, elasticity, and overall skin quality by stimulating the skin's natural regenerative processes. It was introduced in Italy in 2015 and is now marketed across Europe, Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and beyond.

NAHYCO® Hybrid Technology

PROFHILO's defining feature is IBSA's patented NAHYCO® Hybrid Technology. Rather than the chemical cross-linking (BDDE) used in conventional HA fillers, it combines high- and low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid through a thermal stabilization process, forming Hybrid Cooperative Complexes that are stable yet highly diffusible through tissue rather than staying localized where injected.

The Line-Up

What To Expect

Treatment Protocol

The standard protocol is 2 sessions, 30 days apart, using the BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) technique - five carefully chosen injection points per side rather than numerous small injections, spreading the HA evenly while minimizing discomfort and bruising. Maintenance is typically every 4 to 6 months, individualized to age and skin condition.

PROFHILO is widely regarded as one of the gold-standard bio-remodeling treatments in aesthetic medicine. Its NAHYCO® Hybrid Technology, high concentration of non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, and BAP injection protocol set it apart from both conventional dermal fillers and traditional skin boosters. Rather than adding facial volume, it focuses on restoring skin hydration, elasticity, firmness, and overall tissue quality, making it particularly effective for patients wanting subtle, natural-looking rejuvenation without changing facial contours.
