A calcium hydroxylapatite biostimulatory dermal filler from Merz Aesthetics, providing immediate structural support while stimulating the body's own collagen production.

Unlike traditional hyaluronic acid fillers that primarily restore volume by attracting water, RADIESSE provides immediate structural support while also stimulating the body's natural collagen production over time. It's classified as both a dermal filler and a collagen biostimulator, used in aesthetic medicine for more than two decades and backed by extensive clinical research, with FDA approval in the United States for several cosmetic indications.
30% CaHA microspheres, smooth and spherical, approximately 25–45 μm in diameter, suspended in a 70% carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) gel carrier with sterile water and glycerin. In Phase 1, the CMC gel provides immediate structural support, lifting wrinkles and restoring contour. In Phase 2, the gel gradually biodegrades over several months while fibroblasts are activated and new Type I and Type III collagen — plus elastin, and in some studies new microvasculature — is produced, gradually replacing the gel as the CaHA microspheres are naturally metabolized.
Cheek augmentation, jawline contouring, chin enhancement, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, hand rejuvenation
A physician-prepared dilution (saline + lidocaine) for skin quality improvement — neck, décolletage, upper arms, abdomen, buttocks, thighs, crepey skin — an injection technique rather than a separate commercial product
Usually a single session, with an optional touch-up after several months if needed. Hyperdiluted treatments may require 2–3 sessions, spaced approximately 6–12 weeks apart.
Because these risks exist with any injectable or energy-based treatment, procedures should only be performed by trained, licensed medical professionals with expertise in facial anatomy.
RADIESSE is FDA-approved in the United States for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds and for hand volume restoration, CE marked and marketed across Europe, and approved in many countries throughout Asia, Latin America, Australia, and the Middle East. Specific approved indications vary by country.
RADIESSE is widely regarded as one of the leading collagen biostimulatory injectables in aesthetic medicine. Its combination of immediate lifting and progressive collagen stimulation distinguishes it from conventional HA fillers, with extensive clinical evidence supporting facial contouring, wrinkle correction, hand rejuvenation, and — when hyperdiluted — skin quality improvement. It generally provides stronger structural support and longer-lasting results than HA fillers, but requires greater injection expertise since it is not reversible with hyaluronidase.
